Geographies of the Eurasian Inland Seas

Geographies of the Eurasian Inland Seas (GEIS) is a group of geographers and aligned social scientists engaged in research on the Caucasus, Central Asia, and adjoining areas. Working in solidarity with other scholars seeking to decolonize and re-center “Eurasian studies,” our group aims to promote networking, intellectual collaboration, and deeply contextualized environmental and spatial inquiry of the region, which is often marginalized within larger professional associations.

We are organizing a mailing list to serve as a forum to share upcoming conferences, CFPs, job announcements, and other items of professional interest to our collective. Click here to sign up.
